  • USA Weightlifting Level 1 Certified (USAW)

  • American Council on Exercise - Certified Personal Trainer (ACE)

Angela developed a passion for health and fitness through years of competing in track and field and powerlifting during her teenage years. While working at a local gym in Emporia, Kansas, she became curious about different exercises and learned about the science behind fitness and building relationships with clients. Inspired by the trainers, she took core science and psychology classes and entered the Exercise Science program at the University of Kansas. After graduating from KU, she earned her personal training certification and began her training career in 2011. After nearly a decade working for different gym owners in Lawrence, she opened her own studio in 2022 with a vision to create a welcoming and positive environment for clients. This led to the founding of Invictus Fitness, supported by a team of like-minded trainers.

Angela has worked with clients from ages 10 to 85. Her skills include functional strength training, sport-specific development for young adults, powerlifting, program design for athletes, pre and post-physical therapy, and prenatal workouts. She offers one-on-one, couples, and group training. Many young athletes she trains go on to compete at the collegiate level through plyometrics and strength training in both the off-season and in-season. Angela takes pride in helping her clients stay pain-free and strong, especially as they age, with many training with her for over 10 years. Her goal is to help you build strength for life's challenges while fostering a lasting friendship with her clients.

In her free time Angela enjoys walking her dogs, Wally and Tango, traveling with her partner Lou, and coaching and playing on competitive kickball teams around the country.
